Top Ten Movies of All Time

Here is a short post of my top ten movies of all time. Feel free to leave any comments if you disagree with my rankings.

10. Psycho (1960)
The freak show Norman Bates, the not so innocent Marian Crane, and the extremely strange explanation of the murders, whats not to love about this Hitchcock thriller.

9. E.T. The Extra Terrestrial (1982)
Often voted the best film of the 1980's, E.T. features a young boy Elliot and his alien friend E.T. who both go through struggles and hardships, but it teaches Elliot the true values of friendship. A true masterpeice for any age.

8. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975)
Arguably Jack Nicholson's best performance of all time, he is cast as R.P. Mcmurphy who pretends to be insane so he can escape working while in prison but gets all he can handle at the mental institution by Head Nurse Ratchet.

7. Pulp Fiction (1994)
The lives of two mob hit men, a boxer, a gangster's wife, and a pair of diner bandits intertwine in four tales of violence and redemption.

6. Schindler's List (1993)
In Poland during World War II, Oskar Schindler gradually becomes concerned for his Jewish workforce after witnessing their persecution by the Nazis.

5. Goodfellas (1990)
Henry Hill is a small time gangster, who takes part in a robbery with Jimmy Conway and Tommy De Vito, two other gangsters who have set their sights a bit higher. His two partners kill off everyone else involved in the robbery, and slowly start to climb up through the hierarchy of the Mob. Henry, however, is badly affected by his partners success, but will he stoop low enough to bring about the downfall of Jimmy and Tommy?

4. Se7en (1995)
One of Brad Pitt's best performances stages him with Morgan Freeman as two detectives hunting  a serial killer who uses the seven deadly sins as his modus operandi.

3. The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
Two imprisoned men bond over a number of years, finding solace and eventual redemption through acts of common decency.

2. The Godfather (1972)
The aging patriarch of an organized crime dynasty transfers control of his clandestine empire to his reluctant son.

1. Forrest Gump (1994)
Forrest Gump, while not intelligent, has accidentally been present at many historic moments, but his true love, Jenny, eludes him.
